Synopsis If Andy Warhol and Ken Burns had a lovechild, and that child made a civil rights documentary, this would be it. Spanning over a decade of incidents within the time-line of the 'dirty southern' American state of Georgia and weaving them with the national perspective and progression of social, political and cultural events during the tumultuous decade of the 1960's, STARS AND BARS AFLAME attempts to illustrate the catalysts behind a riot in the city of Augusta, Georgia. Generally known as the home of the Masters Golf Tournament and RnB superstar James Brown, Augusta faced one of the most violent and 'under rug swept' incidents of the civil rights movement, during a week when the country was shell-shocked after the Kent State Massacre.
