AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - The remarkable members of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Augusta has made history in law, medicine, business, and government. Friday, CCBA hosted a celebration of that history and a permanent acknowledgment on Augusta's Walker St. Many of Georgia's earliest Chinese immigrants helped to build the city their ancestors still call home. 'Many of the projects that they've worked on are still in existence today. When you think about the Augusta Canal," Mayor Garnett Johnson explains, "how they came to innovate and expand that canal for industrial use.
