Autocentrics, LLC in Augusta, Georgia

My husband and I traveled from North Carolina to Augusta to purchase a 2003 Nissan Altima from Greg at Autocentrics. This is a car that we were purchasing for our 17 year old daughter's first car. It needed a few minor tweaks but nothing serious initially. After having the car for a couple of months the check engine light came on and the car hesitated upon cranking. We immediately had it towed to our mechanic who informed us that the vehicle was burning oil. More than likely we were told that the catalytic coverter in many of 2003 models were defective and that if it was not changed in time that it could affect the seal rings in the motor. The cost of repair was $2000.00 which was more than half of what we paid for the vehicle(which was at bluebook value). After contacting Greg, we explained that this is something that should have been disclosed to us when purchasing before buying(we asked if there was anything wrong with the car and was told no)as this is not an issue that we could have caused in a couple of months. He explained that his cars are purchased as is. At this point we asked what type of concession he would be willing to offer as an act of good faith to us and that he said that he would call our mechanic and get back with us. He did indeed call the mechanic but avoided all of our calls after that date. Please purchase your cars elsewhere if you would like a dependable vehicle and would like to deal with a car lot with INTEGRITY......this is not a venue for honest sales!!!!!!!!
