Nearly all local government offices are closed Monday for Independence Day, and the rest of the week won't see much activity either by local elected officials.Columbia County is set to approve several court contracts and announced road and lane closures. Harlem has an overcrowding ordinance going for review. Tuesday is the deadline to appeal property tax assessments in Augusta. The Augusta Commission has no meeting while Augusta Planning Commission looks at a mining application. Here is what's happening in local government this week.
